The recent high profile online porn scandal involving employees at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has ignited political, public and private awareness about sexual addictions. The SEC revelations may advance public concern about online porn and masturbation addiction.
As serious as the online porn usage was at the SEC, reports indicate that other U.S. government agencies are also being monitored. Currently, the computers at the National Science Foundation are reportedly being scrutinized.
While the scandal is in the U.S. online porn addiction is a global condition that is growing at epidemic proportions. The addictions have always been considered too personal to discuss and that mindset may well be responsible for the rapid growth. However, our free eBook ‘How to Stop masturbation – 8-step eBook’ will answer many questions about the symptoms, causes, effects and treatments of online porn addiction and masturbation addiction.
The SEC has acted carefully with the results of the investigation. All employees have been suspended, terminated or have resigned from their very lucrative jobs. Most of the online porn users earned between $100,000 – $200,000 per year. One employee earning more than $200,000 resigned his position rather than admit the usage. Another female employee found a way to bypass the agency’s filtering system and spent 8 hours each day searching for porn.
Morality in The Media president, Robert Peters, took an aggressive stance regarding the report. “Addiction to this material in the adult population is contributing to sexual exploitation of children, to the breakup of marriages, to sexual violence against women, to the demand for women trafficked into prostitution, to on-the-job sexual harassment, and to a decline in worker productivity,” Peters declared.
“Odds are the misuse of time at the SEC is not the cause of our nation’s financial crisis. But, I suspect we will never know what might have been prevented had SEC personnel been focused on their jobs instead of on computer screens filled with hardcore pornography,” added Peters.

With 35,000 employees, a recent report suggests Schapiro may have been receiving less help than expected.
As busy as the SEC as been, certain employees have not been too busy to exercise their online porn addiction at the workplace. A report detailing the extent of employee abuse of SEC computers was released late in April 2010. Thirty-three probes of various SEC locations revealed thirty-one locations were discovered to have numerous violations of agency policy.
The probes used internal surveillance filtering products such as Blue Coat and McAfee to record findings. John Nester, the Agency spokesperson, tried to downplay the online porn activity saying, “Each of the offending employees has been disciplined or is in the process of being disciplined. Some have already been suspended or dismissed.” Infractions involved men and women who were supposed to be working on enforcement of the nation’s banking system.

The chances are good that you know someone suffering this debilitating dependency.

Usually the addict will have tried to self-medicate. That experience usually fails but leaves the addict skeptical about the success of any program. The addict then continues the masturbation, pornography addiction. As the disorder continues to unfold, the addict will encounter relationship problems as well as financial, legal and professional difficulties. Without treatment, the vicious cycle spirals out of control.

All over the globe, people eat. All over the globe, people masturbate and people seek out pornography. People consume alcohol, smoke tobacco products and indulge in illegal drugs. These are not bad people. But, they are people who expose themselves to the danger of addictions or disorders that can quickly take a life of order and make it an unrecognizable life of chaos.
There are two sides to every argument. I eat because it is natural. I masturbate because it is natural. These statements have truth. 94 percent of all men masturbate. 46 percent of women masturbate. Masturbation will not make you go blind, will not cause hairy palms and is not a sin. Eating is good and healthy, until it becomes obsessive and unhealthy. Both responses are most likely caused by other emotional insecurities or restlessness. And, both have very serious effects.

Most likely fueled by reports of online child pornography and inappropriate contact with children online, state, local and national laws work swiftly and poignantly to end pornographic addiction.
One disturbing characteristic of masturbation addicts is that they tend to shy away from the possibility of intimate relationships. These individuals find that intimacy only to discover that their addiction to sex alone prevents them from entering into genuine relationships.
